PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilation system that can avoid a degradation in a ventilated atmosphere by ensuring a total exhaust volume from an entire dwelling even when a certain exhaust fan is stopped. SOLUTION: The ventilation system for a dwelling having a plurality of areas designed for continuous ventilation by air supply and exhaust comprises a controller for controlling exhaust fans 12 to ensure a total exhaust volume from the entire dwelling when the exhaust fan 12 installed in a bathroom 4 that is a particular area out of the plurality of areas is stopped, by increasing an exhaust volume by the exhaust fan 12 installed in a lavatory 5 that is another area adjoining the bathroom 4 and positioned downstream thereof at air supply.
