A voltage to frequency converter has a capacitor charged and discharged between two preset voltage levels under the control of a bistable switching circuit (F1). In addition the bistable circuit controls two AND gates (G1, G2) for the forwards and backwards counting inputs of a slave converter for the capacitor voltage (after amplification is necessary). The outputs of the gates are connected through a NOR gate (G3) at the output of which a pulse train appears with frequency proportional to the input voltage. The converter resolves the flanks of the charge voltage into short time intervals whose mean frequency is proportional to the input voltage so that the converter has a finer resolution, is more accurate, and faster in operation as compared with conventional converters. |
