1340465 Vehicle cover W MICHEL 10 April 1972 [9 April 1971] 16357/72 Heading B7B A vehicle cover structure comprises a three sided dismountable frame 10, two angle sectioned horizontal side portions 11, 12 of which carry hollow trackways 43, Fig. 2, each having a downwardly opening slot 43A coextensive therewith, the trackway supporting a plurality of slide elements 49 from which suspend transverse beam elements 27 for supporting a flexible cover 17. The forward and rearward ends of cover 17 terminate in flaps 19, 21 for spillage of water, the rear flap depending from anchor frame 23, Fig. 4, fixed by brackets to transverse angle sectioned mounting frame 13. The most rearward beam element 127, Fig. 2, carries end fitting 29 for connection to an actuating element such as a roller chain 30 which when tensioned holds the cover 17 over the vehicle. The cover 17 may be connected to beam elements 27 by suitable fastenings 25, such as adhesives, pop rivets, bolts, or self tapping screws, and/or by a full length clamp bar 26. Preferably clamped on each beam element 27 are straps 126 having curved ends 33 so that side margins of the cover 17 may be held and shaped as water retaining side walls when the sheet is tensioned. The cover 17 may be folded transversely or made taut by rotation of sprockets 63 actuable by pulleys 68, 69 and belt 70 from crank arm 66. |
