The lands may be arranged alternatively along the length of each tooth flank and symmetrical with respect to the opposite flank. In a modification, the land clearances are different on each tooth flank, Fig. 5 (not shown). In a further modification lands which are not cleared away are provided at the leading and trailing ends of the teeth, Fig. 6 (not shown) or disposed alternately with pairs of lands 15a, 15b, Fig. 7 (not shown). In another modification, the lands are not cut away on the back flank, Fig. 8 (not shown). |
