<p>1374742 Seaming non-metallic sheet material R POLLINGER 12 June 1973 [16 June 1972] 27936/73 Heading B5K A portable appliance for joining veneers 18 with an adhesive coated thread 7 applied in zigzag form comprises a portable frame 10 supporting a pressure roller 11, a support for a reel 8 of adhesive coated thread 7, an oscillatable thread guide 5 arranged to guide thread 7 from the reel 8 to the roller 11 for application to the workpiece 18 and an electrical heating device 4 to soften the coating of the thread 7 during the passage thereof from the reel 8 to the roller 11. The guide 5 and the device 4 are oscillated in a bearing 6 by a belt 12 driven by an extension of the roller 11 and which drives a crank-shaft 13 pivotally connected to the guide 5. The frame 10 carries guide rollers 9 either in front of or behind the roller 11 and the axes of these rollers are inclined to press the veneers together.</p> |
