1451738 Delivering sheets RICOH KK 25 Feb 1974 [26 Feb 1973 31 May 1973] 8401/74 Heading B8R The marginal portion of a copy sheet 7 to be fed on to the copying drum 1 of an electrophotographic copying machine is held out of contact with the drum by an interposed guide member to facilitate subsequent stripping of the sheet from the drum, the guide member also serving to initiate stripping. The guide member may be a strip 3 secured at one end to a shaft 4 and having a bent free end portion 3a which initiates stripping. This bent free end portion urges the marginal portion of the sheet into the nip between a belt 21 and a roller (9a), Fig. 2 (not shown). The remainder of the sheet is supported on belts 13. Alternatively, the guide member is formed from lengths of string (35), Fig. 6 (not shown). In a further embodiment a strip (53), Fig. 8 (not shown), having a cover-plate (61) of polyester film is used, the marginal portion of the copy sheet being held out of contact with the drum by this plate whilst the remainder of the sheet is urged on to the drum by a spring member (60).
