<p>The cover is designed to prevent cannibalism amongst fowls or game birds during intensive rearing without in any way damaging the beak or causing discomfort to the bird. The stiff plastic cover, in the shape of the upper part of the beak, is attached to the upper part by a pin (7) which passes through one of a number of holes (according to the size of the bird) in the false beak and through the nostrils and nasal septum. The cover can move in relation to the upper beak, pivoting in the securing pin. The cover protrudes beyond the real beak and allows the bird to feed normally while preventing it from attacking other birds.</p> |
