The cover (12) is used to protect the base parts of electrical switches which may be arranged to be exposed by a window cut in the cover. The cover is held in place by a deformable plastics catch engaging with the switch box base. Release of the cover is achieved from the front rather than from the sides so allowing such boxes to be mounted closely side by side. The cover is made entirely of plastics and its side faces are provided with a location strut serving to ensure correct positioning. Two openings on either side of the front face open onto mouldings in which are pivoted levers having catches engaging with the base plate. These are released by downward pressure of a screwdriver or similar blade through the front opening.
