1. A binder for mold material mixtures, comprising:
(A) one or more polyol compounds comprising at least 2 hydroxy groups per molecule, containing at least one phenolic resin as the polyol compound; and (B) one or more isocyanate compounds comprising per molecule, at least 2 isocyanate groups and at least one of: a uretonimine group and a carbodiimide group.
