They may be obtained by either rearranging an appropriate hydrazobenzene derivative or reacting benzidine or an appropriate derivative thereof with an alkene. They are useful as oxidation indicators and may thus be used for the detection and determination of H 2 O 2 or of substances which react with the formation of H 2 O 2 , or of peroxidase or of peroxidate-active substances. |
