<p>Pistol for slaughter of rabbits comprises a butt, a breech, a barrel, and a trigger-type cocking device. Within the breech and barrel is a sliding rod consisting of a piston capable of engaging the trigger and a block bearing a punch formed directly or connected to the free end of the rod and sliding within the barrel. After manual actuation of the trigger, a spring allows controlled ejection of the rod until its block and punch project beyond the front end of the barrel, so that the block hits the skull of the animal placed against the end of the barrel. Pref. a collar is disposed within the chamber formed by the breech and barrel so that, at the end of its ejection stroke, the piston abuts against the collar. The pistol eliminates the inconvenience of stunning the animal prior to bleeding it.</p> |
