The device is for chemical, thermic and mechanical treatment of bulk timber, and at the same time to improve the qualities of the wood. It incorporates a vertical cylindrical vessel, comprising sheath, top lid, and bottom flat-based flange, and a hydraulic cylinder with a piston, with a pressure bench mounted on the latter. The flat base (5) is fitted with a conical sheath (6), with a central pipe (7), serving as housing for the hydraulic cylinder (9) and its piston. The base and sheath may be penetrated by an outlet suction pipe (19), and an intake pipe (17). The operating medium can be led through the outlet pipe into the heat exchanger (22), through a circulator (20), and thence through the intake pipe into the cylindrical sheath (1), which has air distributors built in over its whole height, connected to the intake pipe.
