Aluminium alloy railway track - uses U=section rails and flexible joints to give high degree of smooth train running

The permanent way railway line is fabricated from aluminum alloys and may replace steel track. The use of aluminum alloy may make train travel more comfortable reducing jolting and noise, and obviating the onset of shaking and vibrations. The use of aluminum alloy rather than steel for the rails enables the construction of flexibly track. The modulus of elasticity of the material permits deformations of up to three times greater than those of steel without rupture. Dove-tailed joints may be used, with anti-vibration pinning, and plastics or rubber expansion joints. The track is used by rubber tyred vehicles.
