The fitting is for securing a sail onto the mast of a surf board so as to convert the board into a sailing boat. It has two jaws (8, 9) at the mast end of two manipulating or locking arms (3, 4). When the arms are closed, and locked onto the mast, a bridging piece (12) is fitted onto the free ends (10, 11). The fastening on the sail is attached to this bridging piece. The device is positive and can be handled comfortably even with cold and stiff fingers.
