<p>The strip first travels through a row of pickling tanks(3-6) which are continuously replenished with fresh acid; and then between two pairs of squeegee rollers(14,15) sepd. by nozzle pipes (16,17) spraying pressurised water onto both surfaces of the strip. The water then falls into an extension(12) of tank(6). The strip next travels through a row of rinsing tanks contg. nozzles spraying rinsing water onto the strip, which is finally dried after leaving the last rinsing tank. Demineralised water and steam are pref. fed into a compressor to provide water at over 20 bars fed into nozzle pipes(16,17). Used for pickling of hot rolled steel strip prior to cold rolling.</p> |
