The system forms a sealed glazing joint for a skylight formed by synthetic sheets, without the use of separate joint components. The two opposite edges of a sheet are grooved for the entire length of a wall, parallel to the lines of the structure, so as to form narrow strips of the same width on each sheet. The grooved strips are then fitted together to form the joints between the sheets. The latter rest on arches fixed over the roof opening. Covers are fitted over the joints, and an angle-piece in turn covers the cover ends and the folded-over edges of the sheets right the way along both sides of the skylight. The angle-pieces are fixed to the wall-plates, the fixing device also securing the folded-over edges of the glazing sheets.
