<p>The clamp (1) has a mortice and tenon hinge. The clamping arm (3) has the tenon with a sliding core (14) operated by a central pin (2). The faces (14a,b) of the tenon carry ratchet teeth which engage with the teeth on the inner faces (8a,b) of the mortice (18a,b). The tenon has a thrust spring on each side. One set of ratchet gears allows movement in one direction of rotation, whilst the other set allows rotation in the opposite direction. The changeover is made through axial movement of the tenon (14) using the pin.</p> |
