A printing head with an n x p matrix of dots produces a chosen character by selective operation of the points of the matrix. A drive mechanism provides the relative displacement between the printing surface and the printing head parallel to the printed lines. Pulses are generated and applied to the printing head in synchronism with the relative movement of the two parts. The mechanism providing this relative movement has a stepping action, providing movement at a variable speed during the course of each step. The operation of the printing head is controlled, by a validation circuit to occur at a specific time within the interval when the variation in speed becomes less than a predetermined value.
|
