An indicating instrument with a fixed electrical coil (8) has a disc (5) which is rotationally rigidly connected to a pointer shaft (2) which carries a pointer (3). The disc (5) is connected by means of three tension wires (6) to the bearing shield (1) through which the pointer shaft (2) is rotatably carried. A spiral spring (11) is capable of twisting the tension wires (6) by rotation of the pointer shaft (2) and thus of attracting the disc (5). Magnetic forces pull the disc (5) in the opposite direction. The coil (8) is designed in such a manner that the measurement current reinforces or weakens the magnetic forces so that, as a result, the disc (5) approaches or moves away from the coil (8) whilst rotating. This rotation is transferred to the pointer (3) via the pointer shaft (2). <IMAGE>
