The switch has a contact arrangement (6, 8, 9, 10), which is driven by a mechanism (3, 4, 13) and assumes different switch positions depending on the position of a toggle (2) which can pivot about a fixed rotation point (2a). For this purpose, the toggle (2) is provided with a cam web (2b) which drives a contact rail (8), which can pivot, via a slide (11). The contact point (8a) of said contact rail (8) is located inside the pivoting region of a contact lever (6) which is provided with a mating contact (6d) and, for its part, is likewise operated by the toggle (2) via the mechanism which forms a latching point (3a). The contact lever (6) also has contact points (6c, 6d) which can interact with two stationary contact points (9, 10) which bound its pivoting region. The closing of the respective contact points (6c/9 and 6d/10 respectively or 6d/8a) is controlled by the mechanism which pivots the contact lever (6) into the switched-on position shown in the event of automatic tripping of an adjacent coupled line protection circuit breaker, under the influence of a force store (7) on the other stationary contact point (10). In the case of manual switching off, the slide (11) which slides on the cam web (2b) releases the contact rail (8) because of the leading toggle movement, and said contact rail pivots with its contact point (8a) between the two stationary contact points (9, 10), so that the contact lever (6) comes to rest on the contact rail (8) with its mating contact (6d). <IMAGE>
