PURPOSE:To provide a servo-brake whose constitution is simple and in which an assisting force with a desired characteristic is caused by combining a plurality of electromagnets different in type and can be increased with a desired boosting characteristic according to the increase in the quantity of depression. CONSTITUTION:An engaging mechanism 5 is provided so that an operating rod 3 coupled to a brake pedal 1 and a push rod 4 for producing oil pressure in a master cylinder are connected to each other. The engaging mechanism 5 comprises a casing 5A integrated with the push rod 4, an end plate 3A secured on the tip of the operating rod 3 inserted into the casing 5A, a compressed spring 5C interposed between the end plate 3A and the inside surface 5b of the casing, and a pair of claws 6, 6 coupled to the end plate 3A. A cylinder 7 having teeth 7a, which are provided on the inside of the cylinder and can be engaged with the claws 6, is located outside the casing 5A. Magnetic members 8A, 8B for electromagnets 9A, 9B secured on a vehicle body 10 and different in type are secured on the cylinder 7 to correspond to the electromagnets. |
