A first film (12) successively passes through a deep-drawing device (16), by which it is provided with depressions (18), and a filling device (22) by which the depressions (18) are filled. The first film (12), together with a second film (28) placed on top of it, then passes through a sealing device (34) with a reception plate (50) which is raisable and lowerable in a reciprocating manner and a supporting plate (54) arranged above the latter. The reception plate (50) has recesses (52) for each of the depressions (18) of the first film (12). The support plate (54) is resiliently flexibly supported in an upwards direction and is scanned by a measuring device (56). The two films (12, 28) are welded to one another between the reception and support plates (50, 54) and then pass through a feed device (36) which operates in time with the sealing device (34). If, because of a defective feeding action, not all the depressions (18) reach the associated recess (52) in the reception plate (50) and the support plate (54) is as a result pushed further upwards than usual by the reception plate (50), the measuring device (56) emits a signal to indicate a defective feeding action. <IMAGE>
