A profiled bar for light-gauge steel construction is folded outwards or inwards from strip into a rectangular U-shaped cross- section with angled-off portions (8) at the ends of the U-legs (7). At at least one end, one of the two angled-off portions (8) is cut off (9). Here, holes (10) are made in the U-legs (7) for a connection at an angle to a further such profiled-bar end, in which in each case two U-legs (7) of the two profiled-bar ends bear against one another in an angularly overlapping manner and are screwed together (15) through the said holes (10), and on one side the cut-off (9) angled-off portion (8) of one profile leaves space for the angled-off portion (8) of the other profile, and conversely on the other side. Such profiled bars can be manufactured cost-effectively, are easy to erect and are of comparatively high stability, even at the connection. <IMAGE>
