The invention relates to nuts used by climbers in rock fissures. It comprises a support 1 comprising an orifice 2 for receiving a strap. At least one pair of connecting rods 3, on each side of the support 1, is connected, on the one hand, to a fixed spindle 4 and, on the other hand, to a piece 5 in the form of a U which slides on the support 1 and can be immobilised thereon by virtue of a piece 17 possessing a flat surface 18 which is manoeuvred by a lever 19 and penetrates into a notch 14 of the support 1. At the opposite end of each pair of connecting rods 3, a spindle 6 and 7 carries a pair of cams 8 and 9 actuated by a manoeuvring tie 16. The invention is advantageous for providing a safe anchoring point for climbers, contributing thus to their safety as they climb. <IMAGE>
