PURPOSE:To operate several computer system having slightly different functions with the same software, by giving functions for generating independent system identifying signals to the hardware of each computer system. CONSTITUTION:A procedure Pt has functions which read the content of a register R and transfer any one of constant tables T1, T2-Tn to an empty part in accordance with the read value, and hand over the control to another procedure P. If a value peculiar to a system A1 is set as the content of the register R and it is arranged that the procedure Pt selects the table T1 as the table to be selected at this time, the procedure P operates for carrying out the function of the system A1 by referring to the content of the part B after receiving the control from the procedure Pt. Similarly, in another system A2 the procedure P operates for carrying out the function of the system A2 when a value peculiar to the system A2 is set in the register R.
