Cinnoline derivative (I), used as a pharmaceutical agent, is prepared from 3,4-methylene dioxyaniline (II) by forming diazonium salt with sodium nitrite and HCl at 0 - 10≦̸C, by forming 3,4methylene dioxyphenyl hydrazine (III) with sodium sulfite at 60-80≦̸C, by forming compd. (IV) with diethyl ketomalonate at 0 - 20≦̸C, by forming compd. (VI) with chloride, by ring formation in the presence of a Friedel-Craft catalyst at 80 - 100≦̸C, and by reacting compd. (VII) with alkyl halide in organic solvent, where R is methyl, ethyl, n- propyl, isopropyl, n-butyl, or aryl gp.
