PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery which is excellent in adhesion force and presents high output without complication of a manufacturing process of the negative electrode, and also to provide a lithium ion secondary battery equipped with the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery formed by forming a particle-like negative electrode active material 3 on a negative electrode current collector 1 having projections 2 on the surface.
