The apparatus comprises two roll-like revolving electrodes (128, 129) and an elongate electrode (114), and the lap portions of two can bodies (110, 111) are disposed respectively between the two revolving electrodes and the elongate electrode. An alternate current flowing through these lap portions is supplied by coupling the two revolving electrodes (128, 129) to an ac power supply (134), or by dividing the elongate electrode into two electrically insulated portions and coupling these portions to the power supply.
