The application relates to a windscreen washing installation for motor vehicles with a storage container and a conveying pump for washing fluid, with at least one spraying nozzle as well as with a washing fluid line which leads to the spraying nozzle and in the course of which a non-return valve is arranged. Such a windscreen washing installation is to be developed in such a manner that a delay in the initiation of the washing process has to be accepted only when, as a result of the prevailing outside temperatures, the risk of freezing of the washing fluid in the line exists. This is achieved according to the invention by a bypass line going around the non-return valve being provided, in the course of which a thermostatic valve is arranged, the temperature sensor of which is arranged in a place which is exposed to the outside air and is shielded in relation to the radiant heat of the internal combustion engine, exhaust installation or the like.
