The invention relates to a method of manufacturing an X-ray tube rotating anode, of the type comprising a basic body (2) on which is deposited a layer of target material (20); the basic body (2) being made of a carbon/carbon composite material having carbon fibres (10) impregnated with a carbon matrix (12). According to a characteristic of the method, the layer of target material (20) is deposited on the parts (25) of the fibres (10) free of carbon matrix (12). This makes it possible to increase the adherence of the layer (20) of target material to the basic body (2). <IMAGE>
