A description is given of an apparatus for utilising the waste heat of exhaust gases, wherein the exhaust gases reach a chimney from the combustion region of the furnace through a coil of pipe, and the coil of pipe is composed of pieces of pipe (1) of quadrangular crosssection, and forms a seating- or reclining arrangement.
