<p>The U.V. source (1), e.g. a 4 to 5 kW tubular lamp, is mounted at the focus of a reflective cap (2), inside a casing (4). Below the reflector aperture (3) an i.r. filter assembly (9) is installed. Hot air and other gases are drawn through the filter and apertures (16) at the top of the reflector by a fan (6) mounted in an outlet (5) on the casing (4). The substrate (7) being treated move along under the lamp on a transporter belt (8). The filter (9) consists of groups of rectangular absorption elements (12, 13) at right angles to each other. The ower group (12) consists of parallel strips of transparent material (14), e.g. quartz glass, with narrow gaps between them. The upper group (13) of transparent laminations (15) overlap but have gaps between them because of their angle to the horizontal. @(13pp Dwg.No.2/3)@.</p> |
