The packet (12) is seized from an approximately horizontal position and then moved into the container (2) in an approximately vertical, horizontal or inclined position through rotary movement carried out about a horizontal axis (21). After the packet is introduced the container can be advanced stepwise. The container can be inclined to the horizontal and moved at right angles to the transport direction during filling. The packets can be rotated by a rotary cross (27) with pref. three arms (20) each having a gripper (22) at the end. The gripper is pref. a plate with concave curve to positively take up the packet. USE/ADVANTAGE - Continuous feed system for packets into collecting containers allows rapid handling without the need for prior stacking shafts. It is esp. for tubular foil bags.
