The present invention relates to a process for producing interior components for motor vehicles and to an apparatus for carrying out the process. By virtue of using the injection-moulding technique and by virtue of the clearly reduced number of working steps in comparison with conventional production processes, the overall result is an extremely flexible production process by which the most varied of interior components with the most varied of requirements can be produced, for example pillars, rear shelves, boot linings, wheel-house panellings, door panellings, consoles, side panellings, roof liners, car carpets etc. Furthermore, by virtue of the reduced number of working steps, fewer machines and tools are also required, with the overall result that the production of interior components is much less expensive, the space requirement is considerably reduced, and is further reduced by the apparatus according to the invention for carrying out the process. The reduction in the number of tools required makes it possible to combine them in one tool. This moulding tool according to the invention is a shaping mould, an injection mould and a cutting or punching mould and has a lower mould half and an upper mould half, the lower mould half having a clamping device for clamping in a decorative material and the upper mould half having slide channels and hot runners.
