PURPOSE:To display a route continuously from current position to a farthest position by displaying a map data, including the farthest position on a continuous route, within a range in the traveling direction from the current position of a car which can be displayed on a display means thereby deciding the traveling direction of the car. CONSTITUTION:A writing means of an information processor 7 synthesizes the current position determined by a current position detector 3 and a route determined by an operating means on a map data read out from a memory medium 1. An area map data satisfying the conditions that a farthest position on a continuous route is included is then written on a display 9 within a range in the advancing direction of a car starting from the current position 11 thereof which can be displayed on the display 9. An area map data including the farthest position on a continuous route 12 in the advancing direction of the car starting from the current position 11 thereof is displayed within a frame 9b shown by a dot line. This provides information relating to the route 12 in the advancing direction of the car and the peripheral roads 13. |
