摘要 PURPOSE:To enable both reducing the capacity of power source and saving the power without interrupting the display by narrowing the pulse width given to each light emitting element per gradation so that the value of the total load current of the light emitting elements forming the display surface is limited to be a specified value or below when it exceeds the specified value. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a display section 6 which forms a display surface by arranging plural light emitting elements 7 on a plane, a power source section 31 which feeds power to each light emitting element 7, a display control section 9 which conducts gradation control of the light emitting period of each light emitting element 7 by counting the pulses per gradation in accordance with the video signal, a current detection section 32 which detects the total load current of the light emitting elements 7 of the display section 6, and a gradation control circuit 10 which reduces the pulse width per gradation so that, when the total load current detected by this current detection section 32 exceeds a specified value, this current is limited below the specified value.
