Making splice connection between two optical waveguides esp. for optical signal transmission

The method forms a splice connection between two waveguides formed as plastic cables with a plastic cladding surrounding the waveguide. The cladding is removed from the ends of the waveguides to be connected. The ends are then inserted into an intermediate piece of cable cladding and are then fixed in place. The connection point may be provided with a tension relieving part. The splice connection points may be inserted into a sleeve surrounding the intermediate part and part of the cladding of the cable ends. An optically transparent material may be provided between the ends of the waveguides.
