The connecting elements (4) of the partitioning system consist of caps (8) which can be slipped onto the wall elements (6,18). there are slotted recesses which accommodate the adjacent wall elements on the lower and upper edges of the elements. The wall elements consist of a flexible synthetic material with a high form recovery capability. The wall elements have on both sides several thickened portions (12) which are in strip-form in the vertical direction and round in cross-section.
