Circuit voltage shifting method for e.g. analogue=to=digital converter

The method involves using a capacitor and a voltage supply different from the two voltages between which the voltage is to be shifted. The voltage value, e.g. the difference between two potentials, is shifted by coupling each potential to a pole of the capacitor with a given capacitance. The connection is interrupted after the capacitor has been charged up to a specified level, e.g. the charge equalling the difference between the two potentials multiplied by the capacitance. Then at least one capacitor pole is coupled to a further terminal at a third potential, and the voltage is tapped at both capacitor poles. Pref. the third potential is so chosen that the tapped voltage lies in a preset voltage region, especially in a working range of operational amplifier etc.
