摘要 PURPOSE: To maintain tension control performance in a desirable state and to prevent trouble by determining the value of a coefft. of influence that a change in the manipulated variable of tension control exerts on tension or the change rate thereof with time, thereby calculating the value of the parameter of a tension controller and setting this value at a tension controller. CONSTITUTION: The partial differential coeffts. fBCT and fET relating to the tension T of an increase quantity fBC of a metallic strip length and the elastic elongation rate fE of the metallic strip length, respectively, are determined by the prescribed calculation equation based on the theory of strength of materials. Thereafter, the value of the coefft. of influenceαT1 /αDVS that the value obtd. by subtracting the metallic strip speed on the inlet side from the metallic strip speed on the outlet side of a tension control zone, i.e., the change in the outlet side speed difference DVS exerts on the change in the tension change rate per unit time T1 =(αT/αt) is determined by the equation...αT1 /αDVS =1/(fET-fBCT). The value of the control parameter for calculating the rotating speed command value of the rolls to be used in the tension controller 12 is calculated by using this value and is set at the tension controller 12.
