摘要 PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of excessive correction by a method wherein a granualness type controller operated in such a manner that a fuel injection amount coincides with a target value is provided and when a detecting air-fuel ratio detected by an air-fuel ratio detecting means is within a given range, the detecting air-fuel ratio is adjusted to a given value. CONSTITUTION: During operation of an engine, a control unit 34 retrieves a map based on the number of revolutions of an engine and an intake air pressure to calculate a fundamental fuel injection amount, and in a feedback control region, a feedback correction factor is computed based on the output of an LAF sensor 54. In this case, an adaptive parameterθhat is calculated by an adaptive controller having an adaptive parameter regulation mechanism so that a deviation between a target value and a control amount is reduced to zero. A parameter regulation mechanism is operated in synchronism with a combustion cycle but an average value of detecting air-fuel ratios determined at the respective given angles of cylinders between combustion cycles is inputted as a control amount at the parameter regulating mechanism to compute a feedback correction factor.
