<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotationally projecting/retracting type mechanical pencil capable of smoothly performing projecting/retracting and delivering of a core by forming a cam part for sliding a tip member and a cam part for sliding a chuck in a sheath. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The sheath is rotatably connected to a front shaft 11 capable of projecting the tip member 9 from a tip opening hole 11A. The cam part for sliding the tip member and the cam part for sliding the chuck are formed in this sheath. In addition, a tip member sliding body 21 and a pushing member 22 are built in the sheath so as to be slidable longitudinally.
