DATA PROCESSOR WITH EXECUTION UNIT FOR EXECUTION OF LOAD INSTRUCTION AND ITS OPERATING METHOD

PURPOSE: To improve the unit which executes a load and a store instructions. CONSTITUTION: A data processor 10 dispatches a loaded/store multiple and a load/store string instruction as a simple load instruction or store instruction to a loaded/store unit 28. A sequencer unit 18 allocates an entry into a rename buffer 34 and the loaded/store unit writes data of each simple load instruction back in response to the entry. This technique makes early data transfer easy as to subsequent instruction. The sequencer unit, on the other hand, supplies a rename buffer tag to the load/store unit unless the operand of the simple store instruction can be supplied.
