PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new cut pile woven or knitted fabric having quite new grade appearance and touch and excellent handleability by adopting special differently dyeable composite false-twisted crimped yarns of polyester filaments as the pile yarns of the cut pile woven or knitted yarns without using spun yarns. SOLUTION: This is a cut pile woven or knitted fabric wherein composite false-twisted yarns (P) comprising polyester multi-filaments A (low oriented fine denier multi-filaments capable of being dyed with ionic dyestuffs) and polyester multi-filaments B (highly oriented thick denier multi-filaments capable of being not dyed with the ionic dyestuffs) are dyed and subsequently used as the pile yarns. Therein, the multi-filaments A, the multi-filaments B and the composite false-twisted yarns P satisfy the following specific requirements, DA/(DA+DB)=0.4 to 0.7, NA/NB=3 to 8, CP<=2%, CA=1 to 5%, CB=0 to 2%,εA<εB<=1,εB>=0.8, SP<=4.5%.
