PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a film which is excellent in heat resistance, clarity, and adhesion to inorg. and org. compds. and has a low birefringence by forming it from a maleimide-olefin copolymer having a specified mol.wt. and comprising specific structural units. SOLUTION: This film is formed from a maleimide-olefin copolymer comprising 40-60mol%, pref. 45-55mol%, structural units represented by formula I (wherein R<1> is H or CH3 ), 0-20mol%, pref. 0.01-10mol%, still pref. 0.1-3mol%, structural units represented by formula II, and 60-40mol%. pref. 55-45mol%, structural units represented by formula III (wherein R<2> and R<3> are each R<1> ) and having a number-average mol.wt. of 1×10<3> -5×10<6> , pref. 1×10<4> -1×10<6> and is useful for an OHP sheet, an LCD backlight diffusion film, a capacitor film, a transparent conductive film, etc.
