Twin-axle forestry tractor

The lower carriage of a mobile excavator with turntable (1) holds a rotatable log store (2) for holding tree trunks and which can be rotated between a front and rear axle. The grippers (3) are raised by the hydraulic cylinder (7) under the pulling force of the logs which are then placed on the log store (2). The cab (4), motors (5) and grippers (3) are supported by the turntable (1). The load can be shifted by the actual weight of the grippers or of the grippers with supporting logs so that an even axial load is reached with 50% on the front and 50% on the rear axle. The grippers are supported twice through bearings (8,9) and the hydraulic cylinders lift the grippers over the bearing (8) to the stop when the bolt (14) locks the one bearing (8) and the cylinders are switched over to lift the load further over the other bearing (9). Supports provide optimum load distribution and allow a reduction in the actual weight of the tractor.
