Data receiver transmitter for road vehicle navigation system

The system controller 4 has an interface 5 that receives inputs from a vehicle angular velocity sensor 1, a distance sensor 2 and a global positioning system (GPS) receiver 3. Within the controller there is a ROM memory storing the control program 7, a RAM memory 8 for the data and the central processor unit CPU 6. The modules are coupled to a bus 9 that communicates with a road traffic information receiver 21, a display module 12, a CD-ROM drive and an audio output. The system provides navigation instructions based upon the map data, the decoded GPS data and vehicle information.
