PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a bright display screen and also to reduce total power consumption by improving the efficiency of light in a LCD. SOLUTION: A side face 111 of a light guide plate 11 having a condenser lens 30 faced thereto is tilted toward a back face, and this arrangement interposes air between the condenser lens 30 and the side face 111. External light taken in through the condenser lens 30 is made diagonally incident and irregularly reflected on a reflecting plate 31 arranged on the back of the light guide plate 30, and is partly uniformalized by a diffuser 21 to irradiate on a LCD panel 10, and the remaining light goes to the reflecting plate 31 again to be irregularly reflected. Since there is little parallel component of the light traveling in the light guide plate 11 while large quantity of light is caught by the diffuser 21 and the reflecting plate 31, the efficiency of light is improved. |
