PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound useful as an insecticide and an acaricide simply by avoiding the use of the Strecker synthesis, etc., by reacting a specific arylimidoyl chloride compound with a specific dienophile compound, etc., in the presence of a solvent. SOLUTION: This objective compound of formula V [e.g.; 2-(3,5- dichlorophenyl-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrrole-3-carbonitrile] is obtained by reacting (A) N-(perfluoroalkylmethyl)arylimidoyl chloride compound of formula I [A is formula II (L is H or the like; M, Q are each H or the like) or the like; (n) is 1-8], [e.g.; N-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)-3,5-dichlorobenzimidoyl chloride] with (C) a dienophile compound of formula III (W is H or the like; Y is CN or the like; Z is Cl or the like) or anα,β-dihalogen compound of formula IV and (D) a base in the presence of (C) a solvent, at preferably approximately 5-100 deg.C.
