WEFT FOR WEAVING IN WATER JET LOOM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject weft capable of reducing the metal abrasion of reeds and healds in water jet loom weaving operation, and stably weavable at a speed of as high as >=800 rpm because of causing no scum adherence to the inside of a weft travel nozzle. SOLUTION: This weft is obtained by imparting a synthetic fiber with 0.5-2.0 wt.% of a lubricant comprising a smoothing agent as the main ingredient and 2-10 wt.% of a partial phosphoric ester alkali metal salt of a compound prepared by adding 1 to 2 mol ethylene oxide to a 12-18C aliphatic monohydric alcohol and 1-10 wt.% of a monosulfonic acid alkali metal salt.
